Magid aaronCamp Ramah alumnus and veteran staff member Aaron Magid (Nivonim 2005) is helping his fourth grade class put their Hebrew skills to use in thought-provoking ways. Here's what he writes:

The 4th Grade Students at the Hebrew Day School of Ann Arbor conducted a trial of the biblical figure Jacob asking whether he acted ethically when he tricked his father Isaac in attaining the birthright. Playing Rebecca, Esau, Isaac, and Jacob, the witnesses answered questions from the student lawyers in Hebrew without notes. In addition to developing a deep understanding of the biblical narrative, the students utilized 4th grade academic skills such as referring to detail in the text when supporting an argument and understanding that some questions have more than one answer.
