When it comes to our staff, we seek only the most highly skilled and enthusiastic candidates with solid backgrounds in working with kids. That goes for counselors, coaches, rabbis, and even physicians who might spend just two weeks with us as our camp doctor. And in many cases, they seek us. Our international reputation attracts specialists from Jewish communities all over the world. Plus, most of our counselors, and the majority of our staff, are former campers. Camp Ramah left a lasting mark on them, and they’re eager to come back and pay that experience forward for a new generation of campers. And when it comes to our values of kindness, fairness, and of course, fun, our campers couldn’t ask for better role models.

We don’t just hire well. We train well. Each summer, our entire staff participates in an extensive orientation before campers arrive. And we provide continuous training throughout the summer so that our staff can sharpen and augment their already impressive skillsets.

Our Israeli connection is uniquely strong. Every summer, we welcome over 50 staff members from Israel. So many, in fact, that almost every cabin has at least one Israeli staff member. It’s one of the many ways we’re able to offer such a deep immersion into Israeli culture and Jewish values.
