The theme for this year’s Zimriya was Shabbat Zemirot! Zemirot are special table songs that we sing in community. We haven’t gathered together on Shabbat for a long time and have missed so many meaningful moments of shared music. Jews have been singing these particular songs on Shabbat for over 700 years, and each eidah (division) learned one zemer (singular of zemirot) to perform for the entire camp. This year we gathered together on the basketball court for an incredible evening of music and song. After singing our way through the Shabbat songbook, we broke out into an epic song session for the ages! We hope our campers continue to sing these songs every Friday night in the chadrei ochel (dining halls) and bring them home as well!
