Thursday night the Bet Am was transformed into the Arabian desert as Shoafim presented their performance of "Aladdin." To perform a musical all in Hebrew takes a lot of work, and the Shoafimers and their staff have been busy since they arrived–learning the songs and choreography, rehearsing their lines, drawing and painting the scenery. There was a lot of pressure on them, this being the first musical of the summer, but they delivered. Their energy and enthusiasm filled the Bet Am as they sang well-known songs like "Ali Ababa" and "A Whole New World." It was a great performance and a great start to the summer musical season!
Sam Kopin (Rosh Shoafim): The Shoafim play was so wonderful. All their practice really paid off. It came together at the end. It was just a phenomenal display of what this eidah can do.
