Dear Shoafim 2017, My name is Golda Kaplan and I am so excited to be your Rosh Aidah this summer! This summer is going to be full of unique experiences and opportunities, and I can’t wait to share them with you!

I am originally from Chicago but have been living in Philadelphia for the past four years. I am currently a senior at the University of Pennsylvania, majoring in Sociology. When I’m not studying I love being outside, baking cookies, and searching for the best pizza in in the city. This will be my tenth summer at camp and my fourth on staff.

There are so many new and special experiences to look forward to this summer! As Shoafim, you will have the honor and responsibility of being leaders in our dining hall, Chadar Ochel Aleph. You will get to kick off the summer blowing the camp away with your energy and dance moves in our machazemer Mary Poppins! One of the most exciting aspects of Shoafim is working on the Shoafim tzedakah project. This summer we will have the opportunity to learn about important issues that face our communities and world and to think about how we as an aidah and a camp can make a difference. You will be able to lead the rest of camp in this important initiative and I can’t wait for you to bring your creativity, passion, and ideas to the project!

I hope you are as excited as I am to get decked out in red for the Zimriyah, cheer each other on at aidah sports games, and just hang out on the kikar. Enjoy the rest of your school year and see you in Conover in just a few short weeks!
