Camp is responding to the requests of our campers to improve our machnaut program for this summer!

Yaela Garr will be returning as the director of chinuch bashetach, overseeing veteran sh'lichah Vered Ken-Laness as the head of the camping/tripping/machnaut program along with six other staff members. In addition to providing us greater flexibility in staffing your linot lailah (overnights) that are the heart of the program and expanding the number of m'durot (bonfires) and cook-out options, the extra manpower will allow us to offer a new tarbut to Shoafim and Bogrim campers who want more experience with hiking and the outdoors.

We are also pleased to announce two new innovations to our overnight camping trips. This summer Bogrim will head up to the Porcupine Mountains for a day-and-a-half of hiking and camping near Lake Superior.  The new Bogrim trip is a slightly shortened version of the hugely successful Nivonim trip the camp has utilized for the last eight summers.  To replace their own trip to the Porcupine Mountains, Nivonim will be pioneering a two-and-a-half-day canoe extravaganza. This component of the program will be enhanced by a new staff member, Roberta Goldman, who has significant experience kayaking, hiking, and wilderness trekking in and around the Arctic Ocean off Scandinavia through NOLS, the National Outdoor Leadership School.

We're looking forward to all of these great enhancements to the camping program this summer!
