He’s back! Our Rosh Omanuyot (Head of Arts Programming) Jonathan Ross (also known as JAR) has been on staff for as long as most of our campers can remember. He was a camper at Ramah Wisconsin for five years, attended Ramah Seminar in Israel, and has been on staff since 1999!
JAR is an acclaimed actor, writer and director, currently living in New York. He’s originally from Memphis, Tennessee and earned his BFA in acting from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. He’s also a founding member of the Northwoods Ramah Theater Company, a group of professional theater artists who spend two weeks at camp each summer creating and performing new works of theater with our campers (watch for another blog post on them coming up).
JAR’s favorite thing about camp is the lake and he is most excited for the Shabbat afternoon staff softball games (he’s been a staple of the Senior Tour for over 10 years!). He’s also looking forward to seeing friends old and new, as well as seeing “the amazing creativity of our staff and campers in the arts.” JAR has been busy learning how to play the banjo this year, so in addition to all the other performing arts he’s directing, you might also find him picking away on the Kikar!
