Originally from Northbrook, Illinois, Emily is a student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she is studying music education. She is student-teaching this semester, at New Trier High School the first half of the semester and now at McCracken Middle School. She will be graduating this month.
Aside from her obvious musical abilities, Emily has a hidden talent when it comes to choreography. The past two summers she has choreographed the staff synchronized swimming routine for the annual Bogrim (entering 9th grade) synchronized swimming competition.
Emily is counting down the days until camp and she is looking forward to creating lots of performance opportunities for everyone. A jazz band, klezmer band, camper and staff choirs and recitals are just some of the plans she has for this summer.
Do you play an instrument? Make sure you bring it to camp! (Don’t pack your piano, though–we have plenty of those!) Are you interested in learning a new instrument? A number of campers learned to play for the first time last summer. Emily and her amazing staff can’t wait to play with you!
