This evening, our European staff arrived in camp. Twenty three individuals from Poland, Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan will be joining us this summer to work in our commissary and housekeeping departments. This unique partnership provides the opportunity for talented university students to travel to the United States for a cultural exchange program. The program includes the work component in camp, along with the chance to become involved in the daily camp life.
Camp Ramah works with two organizations, Camp Counselors USA and Camp America to hire these members from across the globe. Staff members from Europe join us through a J-1 Student Visa, which allows the participants to work in camp and then travel across the United States before returning home. This summer there are two returning staff members, Paulina Gugala from Poland and Aynur Galiullin from Russia.
We welcome our European staff to camp and look forward to working together this summer!
