Imagine 100 teenagers taking on roles to simulate President Biden’s visit to Israel in July. That’s how the Bogrim and Machon campers spent a full day last summer. Their counselors created a dizzying array of groups and activities that were designed to immerse campers into issues ranging from security and diplomacy to religious liberty and more. Campers learned about their identities and roles, and then tackled issues from the perspectives of their assigned groups. The day even included a simulated Maccabiah Games, with President Biden attending the opening ceremony and throwing out the ceremonial first pitch in a Bogrim-Machon softball game.

After dinner, all groups met and made presentations to President Biden and his entourage, highlighting the issues they had learned about during the day. Campers and staff were incredibly engaged for the duration of the presentations. The campers had excellent feedback from the day, and came away with a deeper understanding of key issues impacting Israel.
