Our talented sports staff, led by Daniel Malka, expanded to include two sports specialists this summer – basketball coach Jeremy Goodman and tennis coach Heath Cohen.  Jeremy (Nivo 2012) hails from Chicago and plays club basketball at the University of Michigan. He joined us for a week, working with specific campers and aidah teams to hone their basketball skills.  In addition to new skills, campers learned that team communication and cooperation are essential for success on the court!

Heath Cohen (Nivo 1989) graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a minor in Coaching Strategies.  He lives in Boca Raton, Florida, works for Bongiovi Medical and Health Technologies and is the head tennis pro at Lifetime Fitness.  Heath is known in camp as the only four-time winner of the Ramah Tennis Tournament!

Heath helped train our staff during staff week, teaching them stretches, drills, and how to focus on specific skills in different aidot. He also helped develop our new tennis curriculum.  Heath returned to camp this week to work with our campers and they loved learning from a pro! Heath said he enjoyed being back in camp this summer, especially since his daughter is now a camper.

Both Jeremy and Heath appreciated the opportunity to share their love of sports and help campers enjoy basketball and tennis the way they did when they were at Ramah.
