By Shalhevet Kahan, Rosh Omanut
The summer in Omanut (studio arts) is off to an exciting start! Campers can choose from a variety of classes and learn new skills in pottery, mosaics, embroidery, drawing, painting and papier mache.
Throughout the first month the Machon campers are working on their Machon intensive, designing and creating a project entirely by themselves. When finished it will be a beautiful mosaic of a dove inspired by the biblical story of Noah’s ark.
We are lucky to have artist-in-residence Lilach Schrag with us again this summer. Lilach working with kids in every aidah doing very special plaster sculptures and paper-cut installations. Later this summer artist Abby Maier will join us in the art room and teach campers how to work with infused glass and create metal art.
The art room is always filled with creativity and fun – stop by for a visit if you’re in the neighborhood!
