7-30 (23)Alex Cantor is very excited to be returning to camp for his third summer in Nagarut (woodworking). This will be his first summer as Rosh Nagarut. He was a participant in Ramah Israel Seminar in 2013 and was a camper in Tikvah for three summers before that.

Most recently from Ridgewood, New Jersey (which is about 30 minutes from New York), Alex has moved around quite a bit. He currently attends St. Mary’s College of Maryland, where he is studying philosophy. A perk of attending a school located right on the water is that the school has a windsurfing club, of which Alex is an active member.

Alex says that his favorite thing about camp (of course) is the Nagariah (wood shop), but he also loves sailing on Lake Buckatabon. One of the things he’s most looking forward to is experiencing camp from a completely new perspective, which he finds both challenging and rewarding. He is also excited about sharing everything he has been learning at school with the chanichim (campers). He is currently working in the scene shop at his school’s theater department, where he builds sets and props for the school plays, which is great experience for leading the wood shop at camp!
