jonah2015Jonah Harris is returning to Conover for his third summer as Rosh Nagarut (head of woodworking staff). This will be his fifth summer on staff; in addition to being Rosh Nagarut, he also spent one summer as an activity counselor for nagarut and one summer as a cabin counselor. As a cabin counselor and activity counselor he lived in cabins with many different age groups, and he’s excited to catch up with all his former campers on the Kikar and meet new campers. Jonah has been coming to camp since 1999, when his mother Nina Harris was on staff. He became an “official” camper in Halutzim (entering 6th grade) in 2004 and was a camper for six summers.

Originally from Highland Park, Illinois, Jonah is currently a senior at Tufts University where he is studying civil engineering. This year he was the announcer for many games played by the Tufts women’s basketball team, who just happened to finish fourth in the nation!

One of Jonah’s favorite things about camp is nikayon (daily clean-up time in the cabins)!  He believes that if it’s done right, it can be fun and builds community.

Jonah is looking forward to welcoming everyone to the wood shop this summer. The possibilities are endless for what campers and staff members can create.  Fore sure there will be some amazing projects!
