Jeremy Fineberg is very excited to be returning for his ninth year on staff! This summer he will be our Program Director, which means he will be supervising the anafim (activity areas). He will also help with planning camp-wide programs like Yom Sport and the Zimriyah Music Festival. He’s looking forward to his new position this year and sees it as a chance to re-experience all the activity areas from a new perspective. In his previous summers on staff, Jeremy has been a counselor for Shoafim, Machon (twice) and Nivonim. He was also a Rosh Aidah (division head) for Bogrim, Machon and Nivonim (twice). In addition to all his years on staff, he was a camper for six summers, starting in Halutzim (when Halutzim was still the youngest aidah) and going through Nivonim.
Originally from Skokie, Illinois, Jeremy just completed his first year of Rabbinical School at the Jewish Theological Seminary of America. Prior to that, he went to Brandeis University, earning a degree in International and Global Studies, Jewish and Islamic studies and politics. He worked for one year as a madrich (counselor) on Nativ, the College Leadership Program in Israel, and for one year as the Youth Director at Moriah Congregation in Deerfield, Illinois.
Jeremy’s favorite part of camp is seudat shlishit singing on Saturdays after dinner. As he says, “I love joining together in beautiful song with campers and staff to say goodbye to Shabbat.”
