Jon Adam Ross (or JAR, as he’s known at camp) is joining us for his 21st summer in camp! He was a camper for 5 summers and this is his 16th summer on staff. He has spent many summers on drama and performing arts staff, as well as several summers overseeing performing and visual arts. This will be his first summer as Rosh Mercaz (the Mercaz is our center for programming and informal education). From Memphis, Tennessee, JAR currently lives in New York City, where he is working as an actor and playwright. He has a degree in acting from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Fun fact: he recently did some voiceover work on HBO’s True Detective! You can see more of his credits and learn about his acting career here.
One of JAR’s many favorite things about camp is (camp baker) Wally’s pareve chocolate brownies (a staple at cookouts and Shabbat lunch). This summer he’s planning to “transform the Mercaz into a central hub of awesome creativity, original Jewish programming, and fun collaboration.”
